Unless you are extremely handy like Gleason I would go back original. Life
is too short to work on boats. They are designed for play. I do not take my
own advice as I am pulling the floor in my Sportsman as we speak. Chasing
rot in the stringer at the port front motor mount junction with the
stringer. The transverse board for motor mounts goes into the stringer and I
suspect is a good place for standing bilge water to get in. Will repair
with new wood, fiberglass and a big metal mend plate. Gotta love it. I
retired from work 6 months ago and now have boat time. Tom

Well I sold my 64 Deluxe but now I am going to buy her back. The guy that
bought her found another one and started working on that one...win win for
me. No motor or out drive in her. I am not interested in putting the
original motor or out drive back in. I am curious of what motor and out
drive that would work in her. I A. Gleeson, I used a 327 chevy.....Any other
thoughts. Even thought of just filling in transon, and getting an
outboard...appreciate all ideas.

both run he wantsto get rid of wife wants out of yard he is 71 and can't
