Hi, Sherrie.  That is a tragic story indeed.  If I remember right, mine is insured for $4400 Canadian (it matched the 3000 US$ when I exported it and I haven't changed it even though the exchange is close to parity now).  I'd be willing to send you a copy of my declarations page documenting the value if it would help.  Initially they would not insure it without a marine survey, but finally agreed to match the current insured value since neither they nor I was able to find anyone willing to survey it.
