[OMC-Boats] NEED HELP WITH 1969.

HELLO THEIR; can someone direct me some refrence to a replacement spring for my out drive on my 69 sportsman 155 it's the forword spring i can get one thru evinrude for 344dollers but is their some were i can get one a littel cheaper 0r is their a way i can fix my old one the ear that hooks on the housing is broke of can i just heat this up and bend the ear on then quwench it in cool water to temper it again if that would work or replace the reverse spring for the forword one.thanks for any help or suggestions leo owner 1969 sportsman.
