Mike and Others,

I haven't followed this particular conversation but had a similar experience
this spring so I thought I would share a quick tip. Spray all the
electrical contacts with wd40 and then check to see if you voltage at the
coil. My sportsman fired right up after having no spark at all. The
voltage is a bit low at the coil yet so I'm in the process of tracking down
bad contacts, corrosion etc, and have also discovered the resistor reads 2.5
ohms vs. the 1.3-1.4 the Seloc manual says is normal. At NAPA I found a
resistor rated at 1.2 ohms that is listed as suitable for buicks and jeeps
of the era. Does anyone see an issue with going with this resistor or have
suggestion for finding a better match? The SELOC manual has been very
helpful for this and does say that "bad contacts and corrosion are a common
cause of hard starting.." Thanks. Paul
