Well, I’ve diagnosed my tilt problems in my 1969 Sportsman 155. Using the
procedure in the manual, it appears that the tilt motor needs to be replaced
or rebuilt. It’s not clear to me if this is a possible DIY job. Even after
looking at my repair manual, I cannot tell how to remove the tilt motor.
Has anyone performed this repair before? Does the stern drive unit need to
be removed or is it a repair from strictly inside the engine compartment?
