Put the boat in the water the first year and run it a while before you start
major work. Make sure it is what you really want. These boats are well made
and one more year of neglect wont hurt. It is hard to find boat parts but a
little patience and ebay will eventually pay off. The OMC and motor parts
are not too hard to find. I have a 1969 Evinrude rogue and it has a serial
number and model number plate on the port side of the engine enclosure. It
has V8 and stern drive. You might check under the dash for a small plate
that the previous owner might have painted over. Good luck! Tom K.
