        We have a 1966 "sport 16" evinrude boat, with a 100hp evinrude
motor, on a 1966 gator trailer. We have owned the boat for
about 10 years and it came out of New York state. The boat
looks and runs great, but we would still like to find some
orginal seats. We love this boat and are very interested in
        the history of it.

My family had a '64 Sport 16 with a 90hp engine when I was growing up
(hence my web page, and this list) but the seats were cracking in the
70's (I think they spent the winters outside in the boat). However
just last week a list member mentioned finding a Sweet '16 in
Wisconsin with what sounded like the original seats!!

Norton's Marine in Conn. have a web ad (I have a pointer on my page)
that mentions Evinrude/Johnson boats; I've never talked with them so I
don't know that they have, but it might be worth a call.

We love this boat and are very interested in the history of it.

The Evinrude/Johnson book by Rodengen talks a bit about the boats.
It's worth getting it from the library.

So for now we are going to keep the evinrude.

Glad to hear it! But if you ever decide to sell, let the list know!
I also may know of a few more folks who have contacted me, but did not
join the the mailing list.
