Below is the description of my wife’s Evinrude. She neglected to mention
that her dad traded a beautiful wooden Chris Craft for the unsinkable
Evinrude when my wife was 15…he knew! The boat is now in our garage for
the winter. The boat has run perfectly thru the break-in period of engine
#3 so we feel pretty good about investing in the boat’s body, including
replacing the flotation. The boat has a 2 inch list to port when
floating, and we notice that going up on plane brings a seep of water at
the driver’s feet. The carpet and floor are perfect, but with the
previous mentioned symptoms we think we should lift the floor to see
what’s going on in the hull. We’ve read through the threads in the
archives about flotation, but we would appreciate any current comments on
this project.

Thanks for your suggestions!

My father bought the boat new in 1968. Most of its life it was in
Illinois on the Rock River. Several years ago we brought it to
Vermont. It's now on Lake Champlain.
