Funny how you've now responded to 2 other messages and mine still remains unanswered. I'll ask again. So this would require cutting a new hole in the transom and patching the old hole? ________________________________ From: BreAnne Upcott <h2onsnow@...> To: Evinrude & Johnson Boats of the 1960's and 70's <omc-boats@...> Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2009 10:44:58 PM Subject: Re: [OMC-Boats] Stringer Tilt solution Andy,  I'm sorry you took that as an insult, but if I show you a picture or illustration at this point, It negates my legal responsibility until the patent is filed and I have protection. You cant be mad at me for following the rules. Your lucky as far as the longevity of your tilt system. You obviously maintain well. KUDOS.  I've been repairing the stringers for over 31 years and have seen my fair share of frustrated customers. People in general that owned these boats were not in state of mind to do repairs, let alone maintain fluids. Do a little more Due Diligence before monkeying up my back. its one of the reasons many people scrubbed their attempt to repair it ( the clutch pack (N/A) and expense of the motor.Avg $100.00 (a mediocre motor for that stress application). I have seen people bolt their clutch packs together so it tilts. A dangerous remedy for lower end underwater collisions. The clutch pack was designed to slip in the event of an underwater
obstacle. Mine will do the same, but not in the same location as the clutch pack It is also a reduction gear setup, so the outdrive does not drop down at the original rate. I'm sure you have experience with relieving your finger off the switch so the outdrive doesn't slam down so hard. There are other better features included that make it virtually maintenance free. Like I stated in the previous post, I will be adding Illustrations after the patent has been finalized.  Thank you On Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 10:17 PM, Andy Perakes <aperakes@...> wrote: Apologies for my bluntness here, but if you can't tell me anything about it then don't waste my time not telling me about it!  I've got 42 years (and going) on my ORIGINAL tilt -- I hardly call that a bad design. >  >----- Original Message ----- >>From: BreAnne Upcott >>To: Evinrude & Johnson Boats of the 1960's and 70's >>Sent: Wednesday, August 26, 2009 6:58 PM >>Subject: Re: [OMC-Boats] Stringer Tilt solution >> >> >>I'm not at liberty to send any illustrations at this point since its in the middle of being patented. >> >> >>On Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 4:55 PM, Scott Veazie <scottveazie@...> wrote: >> >>Do you have an illustration on how this would be done?  I'm curious, sounds like a great idea, for future problems down the road that might pop up with the old system.  >>>  >>>________________________________ Date: Wed, 26 Aug 2009 15:30:57 -0400 >>>From: h2onsnow@... >>>To: omc-boats@...e.com >>>Subject: Re: [OMC-Boats] Stringer Tilt solution >>> >>> >>>The stringer outdrives were made by the Omc Corp. and used in evinrude, johnson sterndrive boats as well as Thompson and others. They have a direct drive electric motor with a worm gear and oil bath clutch pack for tilting the outdive. The clutch packs are no longer available and the design was tough on the motor, especially at around 100.00 for just the motor. The motor was also close to the flor of the boat which induced moisture buildup. My system would eliminate the need for the clutch pack and reduce the stress put on the motor for longer motor life. And relocate the motor higher for less moisture buildup. >>> >>> >>>On Wed, Aug 26, 2009 at 2:56 PM, Justin DeSantis <duc1098desmo@...> wrote: >>> >>>When you say solution, what problem are you solving?
