Hi Ron,

Since the hoses attached to the cold water intake chamber there is no danger of the hoses enduring heat related issues.  The warmest point of contact will be at the exhaust manifold connector but as long as the pump is functioning and cool water flowing, the connector will never get hot enough to do damage to the hose.  I used the correct size clear hoses from Lowes (see attached pic).

Bill/Andy,
Thanks for the comments. The clear hoses you installed, are they a special temperature rated material, or something I can get at Lowes or Home Depot type store? I'm also going to pull my T-stat and check it out, before digging too deep. I do know that I never got warm water out of the "Telltale" or a "Hot" light when running off the hose in the driveway and when on the water it would get hot, but if I backed off the throttle it would cool down and light would go out. Do you have any pics of your engine with the clear hoses?

I just feel the need to suggest (again, I'm sure) installing clear hoses between the intake connectors and the manifolds so that no matter the circumstance, you can instantly determine if water is circulating.  It's the best and most anxiety reducing improvement I've done on my boat!   -Bill
