I put the Stingray Hydrofoil on my '69 Sportsman. There is a noticeable
improvement in getting up on plane. This is really helpful in getting a
skier out of the water. It also reduces the cavitation (propeller loses
"grip") that occurs in sharp turns. Top speed is said to be reduced a
little. I can't say that I've noticed because I don't run a FOT too often.
Bottom line, it was a big improvement for me. Here's the site link

It helps get the nose of the boat down when getting up on plane
especially when there are more people in the boat.
