Re: [omc-boats] new boatThanks Scott,

I knew that the SST is twice as heavy as an aluminum prop kind of wondered about it. I only use the Rogue in Lake Michigan so the possibility of hitting anything is pretty remote. Actually we went 16 yrs without damaging or nicking a prop.

  Glenn,

It does put more weight on the driveshaft, and also, if you hit something with the prop it is more likely to cause damage to your propshaft, as opposed to the aluminum prop absorbing the brunt of the strike.

    Hello Scott,

I don't have a 14 X16 for sale but your comment about not wanting a SST gave me pause. Do you feel a heavier prop causes driveshaft problems? I have a stainless 14X15 I was thinking of putting on my Rogue. It currently has a 14X14 aluminum prop.

I took the boat out today and discovered the river level was lower than last time, and unfortunatly chipped my favorite prop up. It still works pretty well, but I will most likely demote it to back up status since it's all chipped on the edges from the rocks. It was a Michigan PR 122, 14 x 16. Anyone have a good 14 x 16 they'd like to sell, Michigan or OMC? I really don't like using the 14 x 18 I have, one of the blades is a little off, and I lose alot of top end. The Seasport was supposed to have this prop, but my 14 x 16 does really great. I'm not looking for a SST, I'd rather bust a prop than a drive shaft. Thanks!!
