I solved a similar problem with a friend's l969 Seasport 155.  I took the fuel
lines loose at the on/off fuel valve at the right rear and found that the 
valve
was clogged with trash.  Cleaned it out, and the boat ran great.  The owner
had installed a new fuel pump and had the carburator worked on all to avail.
