[OMC-Boats] steering

I am assuming you have the cable system with the pulleys etc. There is a
spring loaded connector under the starboard rail that keeps things tight. I
wonder if that is loose or maybe gone? It should be about as tight as you
can get it. Check the spindle behind the steering wheel and at the
intermediate housing for anything amiss. Tom

There seems to be quite a bit of play in my steering. I have noticed that
the steering wheel can be turned 45 degrees and the rudder position
indicator is at 0 (same as when the wheel is at 0).

Is this normal or is there something that can be done to make the steering
more precise?

It is a 1970 Sportsman 155.

Thanks!

Bob Holland
