Leo asked about using a Buick 350 in an OMC application. Maybe. Given enough time and money, one can do any engine swap.

Physically OMC GM intermediate housings are drilled to accept either the std Chevy or B-O-P (Buick-Olds-Pontiac) bell housing bolt patterns and (in theory) engine mounting points.

As you already probably know, OMC used the Chevy Inline 4 & 6 & Chevy 90-degree V6 & V8 in OMC boats. They also used the Buick V6 (225) and V8 (300) in OMC boats. The Buick 340/350 will bolt up to the intermediate as will most Pontiac and Olds V8's. But you will run into exhaust manifold availability issues and possibly front engine mount issues, as well. So, we run head up against what's practical and affordable vs. the anything is possible and cost are no concern approach.

Also in the mid seventies OMC starting using Ford (4 and 8 cylinder) as a OEM supplier. You'll find a lot more manifolds for the 302 and 351-W series Fords, as well as the small block Chevy (283-305-307-350-400). And marine manifolds can be more expensive that the engine block, manifolds are a critical interface to the OMC stringer from a proper cooling perspective, not just getting the exhaust gases safely away from the boat.
