Bill,

The 120 and 165 OMC Stringers are based on the inline Chevy blocks. The 153 cu in inline four and the 250 cu in inline six.

Inline engines use a single-bank combined intake/exhaust manifold, where the V engines have separate exhaust and intake manifolds.

Why is one of the two water ports blocked off in favor of a single hose?? Seems an odd setup and not consistent with the original intent; one port directing water to each exhaust manifold.

Maybe I missed it somewhere.....Is that feeding a 4cyl with only one exhaust manifold?

Both reds are going straight to the solenoid. They're not stock red wires. After further review I can see that a previous owner put them in. Pics attached.

the big cylinder is the starter. One red is definitely power to the tilt motor (via the starter post) The other red wire is probably coming from the battery. On my '64 Buick 155, there's a blue and white for up and green and white for down. (confirm up vs down - i'm going from memory here). Not sure what the green and yellow wires are. Plain green sounds like one of the shift wires. Yellow doesn't sound familiar - maybe added later by someone...

Lee has some wiring diagrams posted - wiring diagrams look intimidating at first, but can become your friend after studying them for 2 weeks straight:
