the big cylinder is the starter. One red is definitely power to the
tilt motor (via the starter post) The other red wire is probably
coming from the battery. On my '64 Buick 155, there's a blue and
white for up and green and white for down. (confirm up vs down - i'm
going from memory here). Not sure what the green and yellow wires
are. Plain green sounds like one of the shift wires. Yellow
doesn't sound familiar - maybe added later by someone...

Lee has some wiring diagrams posted - wiring diagrams look
intimidating at first, but can become your friend after studying them
for 2 weeks straight:
