Factory published weight on your boat (when new with no water-logging) is 1710 pounds, factory OEM trailer is roughly 650 lbs, add all your fuel and misc safety gear at 300 - 400 lbs.

You should be under 3000 lbs, but probably over 2500 lbs, give or take.

Personally, I would spend the extra bucks and go with a decent frame hitch, but depending on the frequency/distances/speeds you need to tow it a bumper hitch might get you by.

What does Ford recommend for your vehicle?

Subject: [OMC-Boats] Weight of 1967 Evinrude Sportsman 120?

Does anyone know what the weight of a 1967 Evinrude Sportsman is? I'm trying to determine whether or not a bumper tow would be feasable on a 2001 Ford Explorer. There's no frame hitch installed yet and I'd rather not put one on if I don't have to.
