[OMC-Boats] 4 bolt cap

If it ain't broke don't fix it. There is no law that says you can't go back
in if you make a mistake. If you are going to keep this sterndrive then you
might better get used to taking it apart. I am in the process of dismantling
a 4 bolt (120-155HP) that came on the 69 rogue (not the original drive for
that model). It has been sitting for over 25 years and the oil has
crystallized. It has been a real b#$%h! I thought I would see if it was
salvagable and put it up for grabs on the site or ebay or keep it as a
spare. My first venture into that model. I would feel and inspect the seals
and if they are pliable and not split or warped then I would reuse them. You
know you have to replace that nut lock thingie on the back drive gear if you
remove it- I don't have the schematic. I have the upper drive almost totally
apart. Good luck - it is not too complicated - just dirty!! Tom K.
