Re: [OMC-Boats] OMC-Boats Digest, Vol 26, Issue 17

My experience (and I've played with 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20-inchers) is
you probably won't feel much seat-of-the-pants difference by propping
down only one increment or just 2-inches less in pitch. You will see
it on your top-end and final WOT engine RPM, but I'd go to a 14 x 14,
if you want the holeshot effect. If the 14-pitch doesn't get you
there, try the 13-inch SST and add the hydrofoil. Beyond that it gets
(really) expensive and hence impractical for most: re-gearing, trim
tabs, or re-powering for more torque/horsepower.

You didn't say -- but are you trying to yank up a 250-lb'er on a
slalom ski? Also, have you weighed the boat (on a public scale) to see
if it's lugging a few hundred pounds of water around under the floor?

Sometimes these symptoms are subjective and actual data can help
analyze the situation better.
