Guys-

I know there is a fill plug on the top of the intermediate housing, but is
there a drain plug? The boat I just got makes alot of noise in the drive
shaft bearing, some knucklehead put lithium grease in the intermediate housing
instead of the correct gearcase oil!

Scott,

It depends on which model you have. Some have drain plugs and some don't. I
have a 1969 155 and it doesn't. The only way to remove the fluid is to either
pump it out through the fill hole with an oil change pump or pull the drive
shaft. If you have noise coming out of that housing you might want to pull the
shaft anyway to see what's going on. Don't forget to grease the spline
shaft well when you put it back together.
