Mark, The drive is never in gear when no electricity is routed through
either wire - actually both the forward gear and reverse gear are laways
engaged - what happens is when you put electricity to either electro
magnet the magnet causes a spring to attach itself to the prop shaft -
that spring is hooked to either the forward or reverse gear and thus
puts the prop shaft, and prop, into motion. With no electric power
going to either magnet the prop should turn freely in either direction -
so, if it won't you have a bigger problem - usually the pinion gear that
rides on both the forward and reverse gears breaks or chips and chunks
can get jammed between the gears and causing your problem - Dave
